About Us
Baumhardt Sand & Gravel Inc. was started by Joseph Baumhardt with two five-yard dump trucks, and it has been serving Eden, WI, and the surrounding areas since 1948. Through our quality workmanship, attention to detail, and prompt service, we have built a solid reputation for customer satisfaction. We are building Wisconsin for then next generation.
Today, Baumhardt Sand & Gravel Inc. is family owned and operated by James, John, Jerry, Jay Baumhardt, Joan Kornitz, and Jane Davis. Our mission is to provide our customers with the most professional, courteous service and quality workmanship.
Our Growth
James and John started J & J Baumhardt Trucking Inc. 1979 and J & J Baumhardt Aggregates Inc. in 1990. Today, both companies are owned and operated by James and his sons, Tim, Jeff, Brian Baumhardt. Although John has stepped aside as an owner, he is still an asset to the companies.
In 2011 J&J Baumhardt Trucking Inc. expanded to central Wisconsin. A terminal with 15 tractors & 15 High volume live bottom trailers were set up in Plover, WI, for the primary purpose of hauling coal. These tractor/trailer combinations can haul 25 tons or 59.0 cu.yds (water level) and are ideal for just about any aggregate, coal, salt, lime, or agricultural product.
In 2013 J&J Baumhardt acquired Abel Landscaping's snowplowing division. The acquisition brings together over 75 years of combined experience and nearly doubles our snowplowing equipment, taking us from 25 units to 45 units.
With our growth in mind, the property across the street from our current location was also purchased in 2013 and will become our new headquarters with much-needed office, shop, and yard space for our ever-expanding assortment of equipment.
